Few films can be considered the best of their genre, and when you get to watch one of those films in a field filled with people dancing their asses off? Well, then you’ve hit the jackpot. New Wave rock band The Talking Heads and director Jonathan Demme teamed up to shoot this nearly perfect concert film over four nights in at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles in December, 1983. Not familiar with The Talking Heads? (First of all, the heck is wrong with you?) But secondly, that needn’t keep you away. The unstoppable, tireless joy of this film will have you on your feet dancing along whether you know your “Slippery People” from your “Life During War Time” or not. Big suits not required, but encouraged.
