Description

One of the hardest truths to face in the wake of tragedy is that life goes on. After Parkland confronts that truth and all of the raw emotion attached, as it takes us into the aftermath of the horrific shooting at Stoneman Douglas that rocked the nation. Following subjects—both teen survivors and parents who lost children—just after the shooting, the film tracks their adjustment to a jarring new normal. By framing the explosive activism spawned by the event as a means of coping with grief, and also showing how once exciting high school happenings (prom, graduation), now take on new meaning, the filmmakers generate a deep compassion for its subjects. But the film resonates most in its quieter moments, revealing an incredible resilience and strength no one should have had to confront. Scheduled to Appear: Student Activists.
