Mix the oceanside adventure of “The Goonies,” the island survival tale of “Swiss Family Robinson,” and the idyllic waterfront country town setting of “Anne of Green Gables,” add some WWII strife, and you’ll have something very much akin to this new hit film out of the United Kingdom. A friendly war breaks out between two sets of siblings when they each want to camp on the same island during a summer vacation. Meanwhile, a mysterious conflict is raging between two men who live on the lake, and the kids can’t help but get involved. Enchanting from start to finish, “Swallows and Amazons” is a sweet, wholesome throwback to gentler days gone by. Scenes of mild child endangerment, some adult violence.
