Stop Making Sense

Mesmerizing. Beautiful. Awe-inspiring. Impossibly moving. The best dang concert movie of all time. We could fill an encyclopedia with the things that make this classic from the Talking Heads the collective favorite movie of many music lovers, but when it comes down to it, it’s as simple as this: “Stop Making Sense” is joy incarnate—pure exhilaration in cinematic form. It’s a film so good that even if you don’t know the band or the music being played, you’ll still be compelled to dance and marvel at a man (the brilliant David Byrne) who seems to have been transported to a state of bliss. So that’s why This Must Be the Movie for a special Monday night public test screening (no concessions, no frills)—an Open Space first—as we don our big suits to pay tribute to the late director Jonathan Demme and Burn Down the House.
