Welcome to the near future, where you can become the proud parent of an Infinity Baby. These special babies take the pressure off because they never cry, never age past three months, never leave the nest or become teenagers, and only need once-weekly feedings and diaper changes. Kieran Culkin is Ben, a serial dater working as a salesman for his uncle Neo, played by the incomparable Nick Offerman. Their company peddles the 1,000 Infinity Babies that resulted from a botched genetic experiment to trendy couples who want the pleasures of parenthood without all of the annoying side effects. Commitment issues abound in this wry, sardonic, absurd, over the top, sci-fi satire from indie legend and TCFF favorite Bob Byington, in his best off-kilter, idiosyncratic film yet. With the comedic talents of Kevin Corrigan, Martin Starr, Stephen Root, Noël Wells (“Mr. Roosevelt,” TCFF 2017), and Megan Mullally as Ben’s hyper-critical “mother,” this one-of-a-kind film is a quirky, hilarious dark comedy about people who refuse to grow up.
