Every year we try to bring the best music docs to TC, and this year, one of our favorite films of the festival has so much more than just great music. A documentary about making a documentary; a movie about the complex dynamics of sibling relationships; a behind the scenes look at the breakout indie rock band The National on tour; a portrait of the artist--”Mistaken for Strangers” is all of those things, but most of all, it’s a hilarious, compelling, compulsively watchable, sweet and ultimately triumphant story about you, me and everyone in the form of the Tom Berninger, the younger brother of The National’s famous frontman, Matt. In person: Director Tom Berninger; producer and subject Carin Besser; producer Craig Charland.
