Description

Woody Allen’s latest film finds one of America's greatest directors back on home turf after a stretch of films on European soil. “Blue Jasmine” follows a New York socialite named Jasmine (Cate Blanchett) who moves to San Francisco to escape her faltering marriage to a crooked Wall Street executive (Alec Baldwin). On the West Coast, she settles into a modest apartment with her bohemian sister Ginger (Sally Hawkins) to get a fresh start on life, thinking that a change of coast, class and social status will help her put the past aside and get herself back together again. Featuring a typically outstanding cast, including Peter Sarsgaard, Louis C.K., Andrew Dice Clay, Michael Stuhlbarg and Bobby Cannavale, this new drama from Woody Allen offers a star-studded kickoff to this year’s festival. In Person: Michael Stuhlbarg (schedule permitting).
