Description

How did Lance Armstrong get away with doping for so many years? Director and amateur bike racer Bryan Fogel decides to find out by shooting himself full of anabolic steroids and other banned substances to boost his best time, and then tries to make it through the gauntlet of anti-doping tests that await winning athletes at the finish line. But he needs a mentor willing to guide him through the system, and he stumbles into a willing accomplice inside Russia’s state-sanctioned doping program. “Icarus” follows Fogel as he connects with Grigory Rodchenkov, the Russian doctor at the center of one of biggest scandals in sports history: the rampant cheating by Russian athletes in the 2014 Sochi Olympics. Even Vladimir Putin makes an appearance. Athletes and couch potatoes alike will enjoy this game changer of a doc.
