It’s not just “boy meets girl” in these funny and philosophical shorts that challenge our conventional ideas about relationships and intimacy. A family beach vacation takes an awkward and funny turn when the dad (Timothy Busfield, “The West Wing”) confesses his true feelings, and his wife (Melissa Gilbert, “Little House on the Prairie”) reacts unexpectedly in “One Smart Fellow;” when a couple decides to divorce, and declares that they have never been happier together, their friends seek the connection between their own marriage and happiness in “We Are Happy;” “Cuddling With Strangers” explores the developing in-dustry of non-sexual snuggling services, aimed at alleviating loneliness; and a brother (Kevin Nealon) and sister (Elizabeth Perkins) come up with the perfect birthday gift for their father (Ed Asner) in “Super Sex,” directed by TCFF regular Matthew Modine.
