Anna’s mother and grandmother aren’t impressed.
She’s living in the shed out back, making
videos starring her thumbs, working as a
summer camp counselor, and microwaving her
bras instead of remembering to do laundry. But
when you’re a quirky British woman, with your
best school friend due in town for a visit, about
to turn 30, missing your twin brother who died
recently in a tragic accident, and you’re being
dogged by a handsome but terrifically awkward
real estate agent (not to mention a troubled
8-year-old camper with a dying mother), maybe
you can be forgiven for taking a while to
earn your Adult Life Skills badge. Winner of Tribeca’s
Nora Ephron prize, Jodie Whittaker stars
in this unapologetically brash and refreshingly
unsentimental comedy about growing up and
moving on.
